An Ode to Me

I'm always writing about my kids (because let's be honest, they are MUCH more interesting than I.) However, as you know, I am a regular blog stalker and I always LOVE it when the blog writers (usually other moms I secretly idolize) tell about themselves or put up pictures of themselves. So since I'm going on 37 days straight of blogging, and I'm really reaching for anything new to say about my Bunchkins, I thought I'd do an "Ode to Me." I saw this idea on Facebook this morning so I'm modifying it a bit for this purpose!

A-"Amy" is my birth name. That's how my birth certificate read 33 years ago. When I was in about 7th grade, I say some awesomely cheesy movie called, "She's Out of Control" with Tony Danza. Well, the "cool" girl in the movie was played by Ami Dolenz. A-M-I. Naturally, I wanted to be as cool as she and so I just started writing A-M-I on my papers....all the way through college. Then I realized how confusing it was to have important documents like Drivers Licenses, Diplomas, etc. to have a different spelling than the one I was using. Sooo, with the help of my dad, I went to court and had it legally changed! :) Good times!

B-Broadcast Journalism. I have a Bachelor's Degree in it from Arizona State University.

C- Chicago...I lived there for about a year and a half after college. All by my big girl self!

D- Dog's name is Piper. She is my first dog as a "responsible adult." She is a black labrador and is absolutely a wonderful dog to have with little children. She allows them to yank on her tail, pull her ears and lips, etc. We got her when she was just a few weeks old and she is now a permanent and important member of this family. Now, if I could just get her to stop barking when the doorbell rings at naptime...

E- Every single episode of the Bachelor and Bachelorette. Yep, I've seen 'em all. It's an illness and an indulgence. I can't help myself. Jan 3rd is already on my calendar. Helloooo Brad Womack. You best not disappoint us all again.

F- Flight Attendant & Facebook. I used to be a flight attendant for American Airlines (which is why I lived in Chicago.) After I moved on to teaching, I lost touch with so many of my friends from my training class 99-35 and have found SO MANY of them again through FB! I love it! And yes, like the Bachelor, My name is Ami Bunch and I'm a Facebook-a-holic. I admit it.

G- Goes to bed about 10:30. Wakes up at about 5:30 on Weekdays and about 8:00 on weekends!

H- Height? 5' 2". Short. To this day, I smile when I think of my height...it was because of my short stature that I was told I would not be able to carry triplets. :) Well I guess I showed them! I'm small but darn it, I'm mighty!

I-Infertility. Like so many others, my husband and I struggled with unexplained infertility for about 4 years. We wanted kids something serious and it was the worst pain of my life to be denied something that came so easily for practically EVERYONE around us. But, there is hope. After 4 IUIs, about a million shots, a miscarriage, 5 IVFs, our prayers were answered. "Sometimes when you wish for a miracle, you get THREE!" With patience and faith, we brought three healthy babies into this world!

J- Jewelry. I've always liked jewelry, but now I have a new appreciation for it. I started my own Premier Designs Jewelry Business this year and I have TOTALLY branched out in my styles!! SO FUN!

K- Kindergarten Teacher by Day, Jewelry Lady by night, Mom by all hours.

L- Laundry is the chore I despise the most. I'll vacuum and mop till the cows come home, but oh, how I hate laundry. I don't mind putting a load in, it's the putting away of it I can't stand!

M- Met Brian October 11, 2003-------7 months later--------> Got engaged on May 18, 2004-------3 and half weeks later--------------> Got married on June 19, 2004 after Brian received orders to go to Iraq.

N- Nicknames I've had, "Aim", "Amos," "Leigh-La,", "Lou", "Louis". And I'd like to also admit that I name my cars. Carol Corolla, Monica Mazda, Dottie Durango, Sadie Suburban....this makes it particularly hard for me to sell or trade vehicles. I've grown so attached. I know, I know...WHAT. A. NERD.

O- Overnight hospital Stays? Hmm...I had a ruptured ovarian cyst in college, C-Section for the babies, Ectopic Pregnancy...I think that's all, but I've got a bad memory!

P- Pet Peeve: Unnumbered magazine pages

Q- Quote..."You're so pretty..." (Rachel to Joey on Friends) It's applicable in so many situations. ..

R- Right handed. Yep, that's me. Brian is left handed and I think both boys are lefties as well, while Hunter seems to be right handed.

S-Suburban. I am a 5'2", 108 lb. Suburban-drivin'-mother of triplets. I LOVE my Burb! Don't actually know how I ever lived without it!

T- Theta. As in Kappa Alpha Theta! I am one. Pledged in the Fall of 95 at Arizona State!

U- Ultrasounds. For my 33 week pregnancy. I had close to one every week! Do you KNOW how exciting that is? Talk about getting spoiled! I watched them grow from apple seeds to real people!

V- Vegetable I dislike? Eggplant. I would've said Brussel Sprouts, but thanks to my cousin Janna, I have discovered that I actually quite like them!

W- Watch. I wear one every day. If I forget it, I will have a crappy day. Don't know why, but I need a watch or I feel "off balance."

X- X-rays I've had? My spine, my teeth,

Y- Yummy Food I make. Um, yeah..get back to me on this one.

Z- Zoo...I love the zoo. I love all zoos in fact.

I love it! Might have to "borrow" this idea to introduce myself a little bit more to the blog world!
