For those who may be interested...I found this very sweet video that illustrates one little boy's first year of life with a cleft lip and palate.

As I mentioned in an earlier blog, it appears that our little Colton will also have similar birth defects. However, Colton's may even look more severe as his is a Bi-lateral cleft lip and palate (meaning both sides of the nose) whereas the little guy in this video has a unilateral cleft lip and palate. (just one side of the nose). Either way, many of you have inquired about what that will look like and I think this video will help! The best part for me is that he is still cute as a bug and completely loveable! (This video does have its own music, so if you want, scroll all the way to the bottom of my blog page to where the black playlist is and hit "Pause" or the "II" symbol to stop the music that's normally playing on my blog. That way you can hear the music that goes with their video.)

Well that was just too much! Here I am wrapping up from our day of benchmark writing, checkin out the blog...now I am all red eyed with streaks from my makeup. It was very touching and the music- perfect. All I could think about was how wonderful every baby is, and they are such blessings. Ami, your lil man will be PERFECT! And soooooo loved. Thank you for sharing. oxox

Oh my God, I couldn't stop the tears. What a beautiful video. It made my heart feel so good to see it. You have been so wonderful and strong and CALM through this whole pregnancy. It has not been an easy road but you have made the best of it all. I couldn't be more proud of you or love you more. I cannot wait for us all to start the new chapter in our lives with these three little blessings. I love you so much, Mom

Hello, I thought this was a great video. I just wanted to let you know that my neighbor has a son that was born last year and had the same issue that your lil boy has. He is the most precious baby ever, and full of life. He has had surgeries and he looks fabulous. He still has more to come, but he is just awesome. The only reason I know who you are is because my daughter was in Kindergarten at Cottonwood last year. I wish you all the best. If you ever want some advice from someone I can give you her name and her FB site.
