Our First Trip to TARGET!

Ok, so today my mom and I decided to be adventurous and briefly take the babies to TARGET to get a few things we needed! I tried to explain to the babies in the car that TARGET is one of the happiest places on earth. Judging by the fact that they only barely opened their eyes, I'm not sure they'll remember just how wonderful it was...

Getting Ready for Mother's (and Grandmother's) Day!

Ok, so this 2nd month of life has been adventurous. Mary and I decided that for mother's day, we would attempt to take a "group photo" of my mom's kids and grandkids. But frankly, we've exhausted every photo spot in our house. So we wrangled Brian into driving us to Lakeside Park to take some photos with a NICE background and GREEN grass! (We only grow the brown kind at our house. ) :) So here are some of the photos we ended up with! Brian was not expecting to be in the pictures...he was our designated photographer....hence the Dr. Pepper T-Shirt....but frankly, it's only fitting that he wear that shirt since the babies were practically fed Dr. Pepper through the umbilical cord! :)

This next photo is of the gift the babies made for both their grandmas! They worked very hard to imprint their little feeties in concrete to make a Garden Stepping Stone! Shockingly enough, not one of them even made so much as a peep during the whole process! I think they liked the texture of the wet, goopy cement on their feet!

These are the gifts that my babies and Brian got me. One is a mug with their adorable little faces. And Brian (who has apparently been hiding the fact that he DOES have a creative bone in his body) made me a collage of all our babies' many parts...noses, eyes, cheeks, fingers, toes, lips, etc. It's so cute. Furthermore, the babies wrote Mommy a love letter! (Well, they told Daddy what to say because they don't know how to type yet.) :) If I get around to it, I just may post their letter! It successfully made me cry, and then my sister, mom and dad! Chances are, if I every get it posted, you'll want to have a tissue nearby. :)

My first Mother's Day!

Wow! What a strange feeling to celebrate Mother's Day...as a Mother! Definitely a day I do NOT take for granted! It was one of those days where I periodically stop myself and look at Brian and say, "Wow. We have 3 babies. We have a daughter. And two sons. I'm a mom. You're a dad!" As real as our lives are, we definitely have those moments of disbelief! But above all, such appreciation for the little people who now depend on us. What a gift they are...so to celebrate our first Mother's Day, we decided to really go out on a limb...

Call us crazy, but we decided to try taking the babies to Starbucks and church for the first time! And WE DID IT! That is our routine. Brian and I always go to Starbucks, get our coffee and chai tea and then head to church! So, for the entire pregnancy the same servers at Starbucks have been following our progress. Well, today, Brian went in to get our drinks while the babies and I waited in the car. Before I knew it, I see one of the servers come running up to the car with my drink. "Can I see them? Can I see them?" They were all so funny! They took turns coming out to meet the babies! Gotta love the neighborhood Starbucks!

From there, we made it to church...Never mind that we practically take up our own row now, but there we were! From left to right it went, Car Seat with Hunter, Brian, Car Seat with Colton, Me, Car Seat with Ethan, Aunt Mary, Uncle Emilio! What a group! We got there so early (we left ourselves plenty of time in case we needed to abrubtly rethink our decision...) that we had time to talk to Pastor Glenn, another woman who is an amazing singer/worship leader Lisa, and plenty of other passer-bys! Well, as the service began, Lisa stood up at the microphone to welcome everyone and says, "Welcome and happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! Especially the mother of the 7 week old triplets in the back there! I don't know how you're doin' it!" So already, we've become quite the obnoxious spectacle! But that's ok! It was fun to see lots of our friends at church!

Then we headed to MY mom and dad's house for a barbecue! It was a wonderful day!

This is my Dad and Colton...when Mary and I were babies, he would hold us in this same position, a place we affectionately refer to as "Heavenly Haven." I love it that my kids now get to cuddle there!

Oh my gosh... I see myself becoming THAT mother...you know, the one who swore if she ever had a daughter she wouldn't torture her by playing dress ups all day long, and putting bows in her hair (ok, or on her head since there really isn't much hair yet.) Well, I think I may have crossed the line. Watch out TLC's "Toddler and Tiaras" show, here I come! With only a tiny bit of resistance from my husband I have somewhat successfully painted my 7 week old daughter's toenails the same hot pink shade as my own! Brian says it looks like Hunter painted them herself, but let me tell you if you've never tried it, how difficult it is to paint something the size of the tip of a toothpick! Not easy to do! So anyway, you know I couldn't let this momentous occasion pass without capturing it in photo! Enjoy!

As you can see, Brian can't possibly be too opposed to this idea since he is an active participant!

So what's new with little girl Hunter??

Well, anyone who's met her knows she is a tiny little thing with the lungs of an opera singer! She is a feisty little one (just like her mommy!) We could sit and stare at her all day long...her facial expressions are absolutely priceless. I thought I'd put together a look back at our little girl.

Current Stats: 4 lbs. 10 oz., 17 and 1/2 inches long

Nicknames: Peanut, Nutty, Beaker, Instigator

Favorite Foods: Formula & Breast Milk

Favorite things to do: Sit in my swing and watch my animals dangle from the mobile, eat, sleep on someone's chest, take baths

Least favorite things to do: Have my diaper changed, have my clothes changed. (But if you want to hear my yell, just go ahead and try one of these things!)

Busy, but not giving up...I promise!

OMG...I'm getting it from all angles! Where are the updates?? Where are new pictures of the babies? What's new in Bunchkin land? I'M SORRY! I swear the babies know when I'm trying to do an update...there will be peace and quiet until the moment I sit down at the computer and then I have a trio of pterydactyls and velociraptors screaming at me! So just know that I have, in the works, 4 separate blog entries....one for each baby and one for "group" business. But here are a few pics to tide you over! :)
